With construction just getting underway, Ellicott Development has secured leases with two anchor tenants for its Our Lady Lourdes Church campus project.
Signing on for office space is General Physicians practice, a Kaleida Health affiliate headed by internal medicine specialist Dr. Richard Charles. General Physicians was brought to the building by McGuire Development Co.
Also moving into the complex will be a dental practice affiliated with the University at Buffalo.
The complex is located at 1091 Main Street, just north of the Buffalo Niagara Medical Campus. The makeover has a cost of $42 million.
“We’re excited about this,” said William Paladino, Ellicott Development president and CEO. “Having these two really puts us in a good position.”
The entire Our Lady Lourdes Church campus is designed for medical-related tenants, given its location just a few blocks from the medical campus.
Besides renovating the church, a historic landmark, Ellicott is building a six-story, 167,000-square-foot building that will house both the dental practice and General Physicians.
The building that will be connected to the 1898-era former church by a two-story wintergarden-like walkway.
Plans include 50 underground parking spaces. Surface parking is also available on the site.
Plans also call for the church’s main sanctuary, open cathedral nave to be subdivided into three floors, totaling 15,000-square-feet.
Tenant mix will also be office-based on the upper two floors with a restaurant or retail on its first floor.
