Assistant Banquet Manager: Aloft Buffalo Downtown is search of an Assistant Banquet Manager. This position is responsible for assisting the Banquet Manager with the overall operations of the meeting venues throughout the facility. The individual we seek will possess strong customer service skills necessary to interact positively with guests and to set a good example for hotel staff, have excellent written and verbal communication skills and be able to train and coach employees. Reports directs to the Banquet Manager.
Duties: (To include but not limited to)
- Ensure superior service, quality product, and 100% customer and guest satisfaction.
- Display exemplary performance for all associates to follow.
- Meet, make introductions and confirm that all arrangements and requirements are gathered with the event host prior to each function.
- Read and analyse Banquet event order (BEO)to secure and prepare guest requirements, determine proper set up: buffet, audio visuals, timeline and also give attention to any special guest needs.
- Assist the Director of Sales with prospecting new corporate accounts and maintaining current accounts.
- Understand the impact Banquet operations has on the overall success of an event and manage all activities to maximize customer satisfaction
- Must possess strong customer service skills necessary to interact positively with guests and to set a good example for hotel staff.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor of Hotel Management or Degree in Hospitality/Tourism/Hotel Management, Marketing or equivalent.
- Experience in Property Management Software’s, CI/TY/Micros
- Minimum 1 to 2 years work experience in a banquet leadership role

The Front Desk Supervisor will oversee all front desk operations within the hotel while on shift. Line Cook: Patrick’s Rooftop, downtown’s highest food and drink destination with remarkable views of the city and lake located at 500 Pearl, Ellicott Development newest property, is looking for an individual to accurately and efficiently cook meats, fish, vegetables, soups and other hot food products as well as perform other duties in the areas of food and final plate preparation including plating and garnishing of cooked items and preparing appropriate garnishes for all hot menu item plates.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Prepares a variety of meats, seafood, poultry, vegetables and other food items for cooking.
- Knows and complies consistently with our standard portion sizes, cooking methods, quality standards and kitchen rules, policies and procedures.
- Maintains a clean and sanitary workstation area including tables, shelves, grills, broilers, fryers, pasta cookers, sauté burners, convection oven, flat top range and refrigeration equipment.
- Follows proper plate presentation and garnish set up for all dishes.
- Closes the kitchen properly and follows the closing checklist for kitchen stations. Assists others in closing the kitchen.
Qualified candidates should have a minimum of 2 years of experience in kitchen preparation and cooking, must be able to communicate clearly with managers, kitchen and dining room personnel Must be able to reach, bend, stoop and frequently lift up to 40 pounds. And must be able to work in a standing position for long periods of time (up to 9 hours).
