Get ready for big changes in scenery on the corner of Elmwood and Delevan. On October 5th, Ellicott Development demolished the gas station/food mart found at this corner in preparation for the construction of the new 905 Elmwood to begin. We believe that our plans for this location will truly suit the surrounding area of Elmwood and Delevan.
After demolition, the second step will be cleaning up the site and in more ways than one. Because of leaking gas tanks, the ground at 905 Elmwood is considered a Brownfield site, meaning that the potential of hazardous substances, pollutants, or contaminants (in this case gasoline) may complicate the redevelopment or reuse of the property. After the site has been cleaned up, construction of the new 905 Elmwood will commence.
The first floor of this space will hold a restaurant created by Local Boys Restaurant Group, LLC, the group also behind Rocco’s, Siena, and 800 Maple. This restaurant will be known as Gianni’s and will be a wood fired pizzeria and Italian eatery. The second floor of 905 Elmwood will be built as a patio space overlooking the lively Elmwood Avenue. This space will be open to the restaurant goers and residents of 905 Elmwood. The residents will live on floors three and four in units that are to be completed in spring of 2016. These units will be in one, two, and three bedroom layouts that range from 1,000 to 1,600 square feet and will include modern high end finishes similar to those at our residences at The Mosey.
This first step in the transformation of 905 Elmwood Avenue has EDC and the area community and neighborhood excited for things to come. We envision this new property to embody the atmosphere of this upbeat and creative community.
