Buffalo received interesting and exciting news this week when it was announced that starting this summer, the Buffalo/Niagara International Airport will offer direct flights from Buffalo to Los Angeles. JetBlue will begin doing one daily round-trip flight starting June 16, 2016. While some observers view the new option as strange, the addition of this direct flight is some of the biggest airline news in quite some time for Buffalo.
JetBlue has stated that it is important that they get enough fliers and are counting on our neighbors in Canada to meet the airline’s needs. Nearly one half of Buffalo’s passenger traffic in recent years has come from Canadians looking to fly for less on the American side of the border, and JetBlue is anticipating that trend to continue.
