Dining Options
Buffalo is famous for its all-American dishes: hot dogs, burgers, French fries, and, last but not least, its namesake Buffalo wings. If you’re looking to dine in the city, there are various restaurants and taverns to choose from, all with something special to offer. If you’re interested in the best food, however, we have a few recommendations.
Bar-Bill Tavern
A local favorite, the Bar-Bill Tavern has a pub-style menu so good it keeps the dining room packed. Two of its bestsellers are the chicken wings and Beef on Weck, a local roast beef sandwich that you have to try at least once. Even the building is spectacular — at 150 years old, it’s a part of Buffalo history.
Pearl Street Grill and Brewery
Buffalo’s history is filled with taverns and breweries; if you truly want to experience the city, you have to visit at least one. We recommend grabbing a pint at the Pearl Street Grill and Brewery along with one of its classic dishes:
- Beer-braised pot roast
- Fish tacos
- Fish and chips
Danny’s South Restaurant
No vacation is complete for a Bills fan without getting some grub from Danny’s South. This restaurant caters to Elite Sports Tours’ official tailgate party with a variety of fan favorites:
- Pasta salad
- Chicken wings
- Pulled pork
- Hot dogs
- Barbequed burgers
You can also grab a bite at the New Era Field location to celebrate with fellow Bills Mafia members.
Anchor Bar
This Downtown staple is why we can enjoy Buffalo wings, as the dish was first invented there. Today you can try the famous American favorite at Anchor Bar with a variety of sauces.
Chef’s Restaurant
If you’re craving Italian cuisine, Chef’s Restaurant has you covered. It’s an excellent place for hungry families to indulge in a little pasta and we recommend trying the unique Spaghetti Parmesan dish, which is known for its melty, cheesy goodness.
Transportation
Once you’re in Buffalo, how do you plan to get around? There are many modes of transportation in the Bills’ home city, some more convenient than others. It’s a good idea to get the lay of the land before arrival to ensure you can hit all the stops you want.
Bus
If you choose lodgings Downtown, taking the Metro Bus service can be a great option. It’s quite affordable at $2 per person, but it can take a while to reach your destination. If you plan to take the bus, make sure you leave early and allow for delays.
Rental Car
Individuals who don’t mind paying a little more may benefit from renting a car. While you have the added expense of gas, you get the convenience of having a vehicle at your beck and call. If a show on the other side of town strikes your fancy, you don’t have to worry about trying to catch a bus or find an Uber.
Van Service
If you just need a ride to the Downtown area, a van or car service can do the trick. All you have to do is make a reservation, and a driver will transport you from the airport to your hotel or from your hotel to Downtown. Just keep in mind that these services can be pretty expensive, especially if you’re scheduling at the last minute.
Ridesharing
Lyft and Uber both have a sizable presence here in Buffalo, making them convenient options if you need to get somewhere quick. The one thing to look out for is the price, as it tends to fluctuate and can get quite expensive during rush hour.
Taxi
If none of the other options are appealing, you can always rely on the traditional taxicab. They’re abundantly available at the airport, making them quite convenient when you’re trying to reach your hotel. However, if you have to travel far, the cost can add up quickly.
Activities
As an avid Bills fan, your top priority is probably to see your team in action. After all, there’s nothing quite like watching a game in person.
However, there’s still plenty to do between games. In fact, one of the best parts of Buffalo Bills fan vacations is the chance to go behind the scenes.
Photo Shoots
Did you know you can take photos at the Bills Stadium? You can book a photography session right on the field. It’s a wonderful way to commemorate a graduation, wedding, or family trip.
