With site work nearly complete on Ellicott Development’s latest project, foundation work and full construction are expected to start within the next few days.
That’s the word from the project’s general contractor, Elma-based Concept Construction Corp.
Ellicott Development retained Concept to build the $28 million Main Street project in Amherst, on the site of the former Stereo Advantage store. The mixed-use project includes the 120-room Wyndham Garden Hotel & Suites, 33 market-rate upscale apartments and a first-floor restaurant. Hotel amenities include an indoor swimming pool, spa and fitness center.
The project marks the first Wyndham-branded hotel in Erie County.
For Concept Construction, the deal is a continuation of its longtime working relationship with Ellicott Development.
“We have always felt that it is a privilege to be selected as the general contractor for any job,” said Michael Shevlin, Concept founder and CEO.
Development of the project was aided by an incentive package approved by the Amherst Industrial Development Agency .
The entire project will be six stories and have approximately 220,000 square feet.
The hotel and apartments should be open by late 2013.
