Buffalo is boring. Why would anyone decide to vacation in Buffalo? There is nothing to do here!
Perhaps you’ve heard someone say something along these lines at some point. That Buffalo isn’t the best place for outsiders to come visit. That there isn’t much to do here so what is the point of visiting? If you live in Buffalo and gripe about how bland the city is, you might take it for granted. If you’re not from Buffalo and would never come visit, you definitely shouldn’t judge Buffalo’s book by its critics opinions.
So, why would anyone choose to visit Buffalo? Here are a few great reasons.
Food for thought
Buffalo IS the birthplace of the chicken wing after all! Every Buffalonian most likely has a staple “Buffalo Exclusive” food they couldn’t picture life without. Pizza and wings from their neighborhood pizzeria, cold loganberry in the summer, beef on weck from Charlie the Butcher’s, or Buffalo’s favorite sweet: sponge candy. Imagine living life without ever having tried your favorite Buffalo delicacy. Now you probably think everyone should visit!
Winter weather fun
Despite Katie Couric’s opinion, Buffalo is the place to be during cold weather months. While visitors could spend their time indoors with a hot chocolate (from a great local Buffalo café…), there are a plethora of options for Buffalo tourists to take advantage of the cold and snow. From ice biking at Canalside, to hockey games at the HarborCenter, to taking a drive for skiing or snowboarding at any of the local ski resorts, there is no shortage of winter excitement to be had in Buffalo.
Late night nightlife
Last call in Buffalo usually doesn’t happen until 4am, so visitors looking for a night on the town won’t have to worry about cutting it short. With watering holes scattered all throughout the city, out-of-towners will easily be able to find a spot close to where they are staying or in the area they want to explore. Whether they are searching for a classic Buffalo tavern, a trendy nightclub, or a dive bar, Buffalo has many of each.
Proximity to the good stuff
No matter where travelers stay, everything in Buffalo is just a hop, skip, and a jump away from their current location.
